New York Times V. United States (1971)
During Nixon's reign as President, there was a series of documents known as the Pentagon Papers were published in the New York Times (Newspaper). Nixon tried to cover up what was in the papers, and as a result this issue was brought before the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS). This was a big issue for Nixon as he was now losing popularity among the American people. He didn't want this so he tried to force the New York Times to not publish these papers. Guess who took this case to court... and won six to three... the New York Times.
